Question:

Freaky things in classic movies?

such as-they say in the wizard of Oz there is a munchkin hanging himself. they say in various disney movies there are several sexual references. what other creepy things like that are there in any movies???

Answers: The Wizard of Oz one is false. http://www.snopes.com/movies/films/ozsui...

In Disney's The Rescuers there was a naked woman in a background building in one release. http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/rescu...

It is claimed that in the balcony scene in Aladdin, there is a voice saying "Take of your clothes". Listening to the audio clips posted on this link it does sound like there is something, but I don't think it actually says "Take off your clothes". http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/aladd...

It is claimed that dust kicked up in one scene of The Lion King spells S-E-X. In the stills at the bottom of the linked page, you could certainly argue it's there if you're looking for it, but it's far from obvious and could be coincidence. http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/lionk...

On the cover of the original video release of The Little Mermaid, there is a castle spire that looks like a phallus. While it is an unmistakable resemblance, it was not intentional and we altered for future releases. http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/merma...

Here's a link to other urban legends about Disney films. http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/films...

For the person below me: the "ghost" in Three Men and a Baby is actually a standee of Ted Dansan behind a curtain. http://www.snopes.com/movies/films/3menb... im not 100% but i think it was a girl that didnt get the part for dorothy and she was the one hanging herself, but yea, if you watch the one on vhs you can see it in one scene, we showed it to our spanish teacher because she didnt believe us...idk any other creepy things though... Yes. When Wizard of Oz first came out, it was categorized as a suspense/thriller. Now it's just another hapy ending family movie. Most of the Disney classics (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White) are old folk tales that was told long time ago. It was very inapproporiate for kids. The stories had violence, sex and horror. It wasn't meant for kids to look at. But Disney picked it up and made it very... "happy" and "childish", which they did an excellent job on. Who is 'they' ? There is no munchkin hanging himself in The Wizard of Oz. There are no sexual references in the classic Disney movies. There is supposedly a ghost in background of a scene in a window in "Three Men and a Baby."

The scene in The Crow where the actor Jason Lee is killed the footage is supposedly still in the films final cut (not true)

And it was supposedly a munchkin who hanged himself in Wizard of Oz but this urban legend is also false (its a bird) In the movie Three Men and A Baby there's supposed to be a ghost in one of the scenes. Supposedly a family was murdered in the apartment where they filmed the movie. I think it's a scene in the beginning of the movie you can see a little boy kind of tucked behind a curtain. It's pretty creepy but it turns out it's totally not true. Here's a bit from IMDB about it...

When Jack's mother comes to visit Mary, you can see in the background what appears to be a little boy standing in a doorway. There is a rumor that this is the ghost of a little boy who died in the apartment in which the film was shot. This rumor is false, as the interiors were all shot on a sound stage in a movie studio. The "ghost" is actually a cardboard cut-out of Jack wearing a tuxedo. This prop appears later in the film, when Mary's mother comes to collect her.

The movie Poltergeist actually used some real skeletons in one of the scenes and didn't tell the actress until after the scene was over. This is from IMDB...
The skeletons that emerge from the swimming pool while Diane searches for help are actual skeletons. JoBeth Williams didn't know this until after the scene was shot.

There's also supposed to be a curse attached to the movie Poltergeist because four of the actors who where in the movie died shortly after the movie was released. I have to add one more thing about "The Little Mermaid". When the Prince was under the witch's spell, and was about to marry her in front of the priest. If you look closely, the priest gets an erection through his robe.

My friend showed it to me on the VHS version YEARS ago, and I'm unsure if Disney included it on the DVD release.
