Question:

Robin Hood is coming back, when was it first on UK TV, in my book it is 1964, was i right, Author Clive Worth,

Robin Hood is back with a new series, I loved watching it when it first came out in the 60is on BBC 1, then I was a Gang leader with a camp down the woods, where we had our own bows and arrows and a nice big camp fire, all this is in my book, (A serial shaggers guide to Internet dating, my 1001 lovers) but sadly the title that was put on it by my publishers does not give it justice because my book is full of stories about me as a boy with my gang of merry men spending time down the woods in our camp, it is a good story for other kids but for the title, Author Clive Worth,

Answers: Yes it was 1964, I remember watching that, And i have read your book very interesting, It is a shame your publisher put that title as it don't even go with your life story, My Granddaughter read your book, she said how good it is, plus she likes reading true story's, just like me, write more true story's Clive, and let me know when they are published, violet Source(s):
robin hood Robin of Sherwood, if that's what you're talking about, the tv series, was made from 1984 to 1986. Sorry Clive, you're wrong!!!!! I too remember "Robin Hood" the television series starring Richard Green - but this was back in the 1950s NOT 1964 as you proclaim. My sister and I used to watch episodes of "The Adventures of Robin Hood" when it aired each morning throughout the summer here in the States. Richard Greene was quite handsome!

Wikipedia even notes that the 1955-60 series was sold to American television. I recall watching it in the house where I spent the first 10 years of my life, so it would have to be the Fifties.

I am very much a fan of "Robin of Sherwood", especially Michael Praed, although I taped the complete series when it aired on Showtime. Later, one of the PBS stations reran it, so I was able to make better copies of some episodes.

I must admit that I've been disappointed by the new series. I do keep trying to get into the spirit of it.

I must be imagining something though. I could swear we also watched a Robin Hood series starring Robert Brown, who later on starred in "Here Come the Brides". Perhaps it was some film he had done cut into segments. I'm still looking for any trace of this series. Robert Brown and Richard Greene do not look alike or sound alike, so I wonder about these memories. Robin has a thing going with Alan a'Dale. The fact that Robin looks about 17 will not bother some people
