I want to get an xbox 360 for my kids for chrismas?
I don't get how there a two types core and something else one more expensive. They have an xbox , ps2 , psp , and ds so their spoiltbrats but a couple of hours locked in the cupboard per night cures that. Can you explain the difference in the system to me please . Or... buy the 360 for them and smash it with a hammer right in front of them.

not to mention that the games on 360 are very violent and gorey, have you seen ninja gaiden 2? it's horrible. they chop off limbs and blood flies everywhere. the ninja gaiden sigma on ps3 isn't even this bloody and gorey.
have you seen gears of war? they chainsaw peoples limbs off and blood flies off when you chop their head. it's ridiculous.
and i heard halo 3 was really bad, theres nothing new from halo 2 to 3 and the only difference was slight graphics changes.
Sony is like Honda/Toyota, it's reliable, it offers more than the price. the PS3 has a built-in blu-ray disc player and can play all kinds of HD resolutions, not to mention that it costed Sony 850 bucks to build every ps3 but their selling them for 500 bucks. sony is losing money for every ps3 sold because they don't want to price it at a thousand bucks because nobody would want to buy a system that costs a thousand.
the ps3 is a blu-ray disc player, has built-in wi-fi wireless internet, it has hdmi 1.3 which can play up to 1080p hd resolution which is the highest high definition there is and it can also play up to 7.1 surround sound. not to mention that the online is FREE.
microsoft is like chevy/dodge, it breaks down overtime and repairs aren't long lasting, it doesn't come with built in wireless internet and it costs 80 BUCKS for wireless internet for 360. it costs 180 BUCKS for hd-dvd player. and the 360 elite has a outdated hdmi 1.2 which doesn't send HD sound. and the 360 BREAKS EASILY. have you seen all the contraversy lately? MICROSOFT is losing MILLIONS off defected 360's. it's not long lasting. it's not long term, it's fun for the moment but it'll go down and die. not to forget to mention that XBOX 360'S ONLINE IS 50 BUCKS ANUALLY.
so the conclusion is PS3 has built in wi-fi, buitl in blu-ray disc player, new hdmi 1.3 to play 1080p resolution with 7.1 surround sound, free internet, and built in bluetooth technology. the ps3 can use cellphone's bluetooth headsets to talk with other users on the ps3 online games, you can use keyboard and mouse hook up to your ps3 to play Unreal Tournament 3 when it comes out for the sony playstation 3 THIS YEAR!!! THIS YEAR!!!
the 360 does not have built in wireless internet, it does not have a buitl in blu-ray disc player or hd-dvd player, it does not have hdmi 1.3, it does not have free internet, and it does not have built in bluetooth wireless but instead uses the old wireless infrared technology. it does not do mouse and keyboard support either.
GRAN TURISMO 5 IS A PS3 ONLY GAME AND IS MADE BY SONY ENTERTAINMENT MEANING THIS GAME USES FULL CAPACITY OF THE PS3'S POWER AND ONLY THE PS3.
have you even seen GRAN TURISMO 5 FOR PS3? the demo is coming out this year and it contains 40 cars, 5 tracks plus online play, WHAT A DEMO!!!! and the real gran turismo 5 game is coming out in 2008. but you can transfer the money and ranks you earn in the demo to the real game.

i recomend the playstation 3 or xbox 360. I wouldn't get them anything else. That's awful that they already have what they do. There's so much else out there for them to do besides play video games. they ain't worried about super graphics, get a nintendo wii, much more fun My brother's son has a 360. All I know is its premium because its got a few extras. Though it has conked out and is being returned to Microsoft for a replacement. The dreaded red ring of death.
My advice honestly, get a Nintendo Wii. Exercise. Fun. Is wi fi enabled. You can download old Nes games. AND its ￡250 penny shy in Toys R Us, with 6 games, plus sports pack and sports controllers..
360, good graphics, but like PS3 is very overrated.

If they've got a Wii already, then save your money and buy them something thats not a games console.. 3 types of xbox 360:
1. core it has no hard drive. Which means your kids wont be able to play their old ebox games on the 360. The hard drive costs 100 bucks separately.
2. premium xbox 360, it has a hard drive.
3. elite xbox 360, its black, has a HD. Also, it has a HDMI port.
My recomendation is get them the premium. As far as i know the core system comes without the 20gb hard drive whereas the premium has it as standard.
The 360 does have memory cards slots also so it's not that bad without the drive but for the price of mem' cards it's probably best just to buy the premium system from the off. Oh and i think you need the hard drive to play through the internet. I thing you are too early abut Christmas I can thing so we have more to go on what not yes you can do it why not off cores you going to take are you for you kids why don't take today than maybe he can't way since Christmas than.

For the price of an Xbox 360 and all those games they'll want you to buy or rent for them, you could buy some decent books for them and maybe even hire someone to teach them to read (in case they have forgotten). Otherwise, you're going to have a bunch of kids with fast reflexes, poor eyesight, and an inability to focus on much of anything for a significant amount of time. When they finally make it to 18, they'll be hardcore unemployables and you'll NEVER get rid of them. Is that what you want? Well, my grandson is probably more spoiled than your kids. He had a PS3 and said it sucked. He took it to to Game Crazy and traded it in for store credits so he could get games for the XBOX 360 and his WII. He plugs the XBOX and WII into the wide screen HD TV and the graphics are fantastic. He plays games online with people from all over the world. It is pretty funny with him, with the head set on, yelling at someone "Help me", "I got you covered" or "What the f**k are you doing. He is 18.
