Why do they keep making those horrible Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, etc "TW!

Question:

Why do they keep making those horrible Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, etc "TWEEN" movies? They never make money

Seriously, Lohan hasn't made a profitable film since Freaky Friday (I believe?) and none of those "tween" films finish higher than possibly 5th at the box office (if they're lucky!). They're tripe, they don't make money... so why do they even get made?

Answers: They're low budget films that are profitable because of the "tween" moviegoer, so they continue to make them. Personally, I hate them but they make their parent companies a lot of money when you figure that most of them cost an average of $3 million to make and grossed over $25 million worldwide each. In addition, think of all the marketing they get to do with each film, all the little toys and posters they sell to accompany the movies. Even Target carries a ton of High School Musical gear, and they're old! because they know the same five perverts will go see it Lindsey knows how to treat a movie executive. If you know what I mean.... The last one Lohan did wasn't a tween movie. It was just bad, before that was with Robert Altman... not a tween movie either.

But something like High School Musical has made an insane amount of money, are safe for plane flights and syndication. If they don't make it in the theater, they definitely make it in DVD rental and broadcast repeats. That's why you see A-list actors in some really bad kid movies (Matt Dillon).. but they're doing it more for kids than for the check.

A lot of those "tween" actresses market themselves to the point that you'd be shocked how much they're pulling in. How much were the Olson Twins worth... a billion? Raven Symone..not that far behind. Hannah Montana is bigger than Achy Breaky.

But after 18 they're in trouble. If no 'tweens' are watching these movies, then how do you explain the way little girls dress these days? Making money with movies isn't all about the box office.. it's about DVD sales as well.. Almost no Kevin Smith movie makes it huge at the theater, and yet, he keeps the budget lower and makes the money with dvd sales.. He talks about it in one of the Evening Harder with Kevin Smith dvd's.. Personally, I think that most of the movies suck, but.. for a parent of a tween, it seems like a good idea.. keeps your kids away from the more objectionable movies. It doesn't really work that way..but it keeps them in the delusion of their childs innocence for awhile.. Think of them as 80 minute commercial for soundtracks, posters, t-shirts, purses, backpacks, etc.
