I was in the Navy and since it's a naval battle and has so many great actors, it just seems like the best WWII movie. saving private ryan. it is intense and it is emotional "Twelve O'clock High"
"Tora! Tora! Tora!"
"The Caine Mutiny"
"In Harms Way"
"Sink the Bismark" "Band of Brothers"....not a movie on the big-screen, but a tv mini-series. It's based on true events and true characters.

As for a big screen movie, "Saving Private Ryan" would be my fave. Great visuals and storyline Cross of Iron Swing Kids

A little twist on a war movie. Showed the effect of the war on civilian teens. Great actors and even better story. Cross of Iron Letters from Iwo Jima.... the other side of Flags of our Fathers..
