Whats the first best star wars book to read to continue from the movies?!

Question:

Whats the first best star wars book to read to continue from the movies?

Anyone know a book that has Luke Skywalker in it besides Legacy of the force that continues a short time after the movies?

Answers:

If you want a book that takes place immediately after "Return of the Jedi," read "Truce at Bakura." It takes place the day after the events on Endor, and is a fairly good read.

About five years after ROTJ, you'll find the "Thrawn Trilogy" which seems to be considered to be some of the best Star Wars fiction out there. The trilogy is written by Timothy Zahn and is highly recommended.

I would not suggest starting out with the "Legacy of the Force" series. If memory serves, it takes place roughly 30-40 years after ROTJ and relies heavily on the New Jedi Order (Yuuzhan Vong) series. A lot happened in those intervening years.

I hope this is helpful. If you need more direction, feel free to contact me via my email. I always enjoy pointing people to good books!
