Question about joke on STEPFORD WIVES?
I live in Indonesia and sometimes I didn't get about the trivial joke on Hollywood movies. For example in Stepford Wives, in one scene where Borderick wore a pink (khaki) t shirt. And the opposite caracter said 'That's why they called it BANANA REPUBLIC!' What does taht mean? Thanks in return.

The wife was referring to his khakki pants. The BANANA joke was making a reference to his penis (banana).
