How many directors can you think of who play to your subconscious?
Ken Russell. Yes. How many others?
And isn`t that the true measure of genius?
It is less obscure in actors. For instance, Jude Law appeals to the subconscious. Liking him is completely involuntary. Whilst Colin Firth, for all his intense appeal- and he is not unlike the g-d Mars- has a frontal attraction.
Whilst others like Richard Burton would catch you up in their hysteria. James Mason, and I adored him, had a bit of this too. Not all that nice.
So which directors and actors appeal to YOUR subconscious?????????
