What are BLU-RAY discs and how do you play them?!

Question:

What are BLU-RAY discs and how do you play them?

JUST WONDERING :)

Answers:

They're an optical storage device. Look almost the same as DVDs, but can hold 50 GBs, compared to 8.5 GBs of a DVD. Mainly used now to store movies, they have sufficient space to store an HD movie with uncompressed sound (DVD does not). So they present better audio and video for movies as compared to DVD.

Of course, they can theoretically store anything should you want and have a Blu Ray burner. The only other major use for them right now is for games in a PS3. A player will cost $500 for a low end one, and as stated above you need a specific player to play one.
