Who else thought Spider-Man 3 sucked more that any other movie in the world almo!

Question:

Who else thought Spider-Man 3 sucked more that any other movie in the world almost?

I thought it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The only good part was the effects.

Answers:

I really liked it, and I even saw it in the theatres and again on bootleg and my thoughts didn't change at all. I can see why people don't like it: There are too many villains, which means there's too many plotlines going on and the movie just tries to intertwine them all, but even I will admit it's not very successful, and not a great narrative. Also, the villains themselves weren't fleshed out enough. Venom wasn't featured for very long, which wouldn't have been bad if they had made him actually good when he was on-screen, and not make it so that every time he talked, stupid Topher Grace's face would pop out and say something smart ***. That ruined the character for me. I think people didn't like Sandman either, the way he was thrown in there (I'm indifferent about that, but I thought Thomas Haden Church did a really good job playing him; even if the character was such a dud, I think he made him very comic book-like).

That seems to be the major complaint. Other than that, I don't see why people wouldn't like it. Too many people say it stunk, or just assume it stinks, without giving any good reasoning. I don't get how you can just go with your gut feeling to say it was the worst movie ever made. I've seen a lot of movies, and there's nothing about Spider-Man 3 that can make it one of the worst of all time. It just doesn't lack enough things to make it THAT bad. I don't even think the scene where he's walking down the street hitting on ladies thinking he's cool, and then goes into the club and starts dancing, was that bad. I actually thought it was really funny, and so did the theatre I saw it with. Some people think it was unnecessary or gay, but I think the purpose was for it to be gay, and it was a necessary moment of comedic relief.

You know what, Spider-Man 3 isn't anywhere near as terrible as Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Talk about taking everything that made its first movie's sequel good, and forgetting about it for the sequel and overdoing certain characters (Jack Sparrow, obviously). I really liked Spider-Man 2 as well, and I just couldn't find anything in Spider-Man 3 that ruined what made that sequel so good.
