Question:

Was the movie 'War of the Worlds' made exactly as what HG Wells wrote in his novel?

The one which Steven Spielberg directed recently. Is it made word for word from the HG Wells novel, for those of you who have seen and read both the movie and book?

Thanks.

Answers:

Nope i read the book and seen the movie, they are VERY diferent.
1. The book is set in Great Britian.
2. The book centres around a man. No kids.
3. The aliens fall down in a cinilder space ship, not lightning.
4. Religion plays a factor in the book.
5. main characters brother comes into the story and wants to start a civilisatio underground...wich inspired a future movie in 2008, except its about global warming not alien attack.
6. the end of the book speaks of aliens returning...

The movie was 'contemperary' re telling of the novel, and very hollywood. It followed the storyline as this
1. both had tripods
2. both hid with a strange man
3. Both made there way to the city
4. both aliens died of bacteria.
