How coem i can't stand even watching 5 minutes of any of the insufferable "Harry Potters" films?
I am an avid cinefile and just find these movies to be painful unmagical, awkward, contrived, but yet they keep making them and people seem to like them? Am I wrong about this one? Is there anyone out there who did not read the books but still liked the fims? I enjoyed the 7 Chronicles of Narnia books by CS Lewis yet hated the recent film adaptation....
I watch a film like "Pan's Labyrinth" which is truly intriguing and magical and poignant and scratch my head? Now this is a fantasy film.....your thoughts?

chocolahoma: no I did not like the terrible "Spy Kids", "Agent Cody Banks", or "Bridge to Terabithia" but i do love children's book .....Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" is being made into a film - I am hoping it won't suck too much!

ok look buddy, the books are better, but the movies are good too!!!!! you sound like you dont like any movies!!!!. and heres the thing.....if you dont like them.....DON'T WATCH THEM!!! DUH!!! no one is forcing you to watch them, you say you hate them but then you go and watch them why.....? just so you can complain about it later. you stupid wanna be critic, if you knew anything about magic or what makes a good lot you, like MILLIONS OF OTHER PEOPLE WOULD LIKE THESE MOVIES!!!! get a life!!
