In the movie 1408, please help!!!! (may contain spoilers)?

What's happened at the very end scene (when his daughter was on the radio)? I don't get it! please explain to me in short, is he got out of the room? whats happened?

Weren't you paying attention? That wasn't a radio! That was the tape recorder he'd had in the room with him and with which he'd accidentally recorded the daughter's voice. Possibly, when she hugged him she hit the "on" button or something.

He got out of the room. His wife never got to the room. She pulled up in the taxi only after the fire had broken out and they were evacuating the building.

At the end, he plays the tape and she hears the voice of the daughter so he now has proof he didn't imagine the whole thing.
