In the Transformers Movie, Why did Jazz have to die?

I loved the movie and I know someone good had to die, but why Jazz. He's one of the main characters. Why couldn't they have made some obsolete character (Ironhide, although I did like him but not as much as Jazz) die. Jazz was one of my favs (since I was a kid). Who else agrees?

I agree Black Bauer and Miyagi Prime. He did sound like he was black. I somewhat agree with your theory rokmyboks, but not entirely because there is no evidence of his spark being destroyed, which is the only way for them to die. i.e. Frenzy lost his entire body, yet he was still alive till they chopped off his head which was where his spark was. Thanks for the info sparkybear. They'd better bring him back or there will be hell to pay!!!

Lol i have a theory, well you know how jazz had like a black guy voice? well you know how its usually the black guy to die first in movies, well maybe thats why jazz got ripped in half by megatron, im not racist btw.
