This isn't a racist question but I was just wondering....
Why are there such a small amount of minorties in the Harry Potter films? (I realize there was an asian girl.)
I mean, I don't know if it's because it's set somewhere in the UK, but minorities live there too.
If you agree with me, tell me why you think the moviemakers do this....
If you don't agree with me, tell me why you not only disagree but also what is their reason for doing this.

I'm going to extend this question not only because the answers all so great and I would appreciate even more, but also because I can't choose a best answer.
Answers:
there are no less than five african americans portrayed in the books, a young chap from ireland, an asian girl, twin sisters that seem to be of lebanese decent and i'm sure i'm leaving a few people out. so, i don't think there are a small number of minorities portrayed.
