How is Harry Potter the movie? Did anyone see it?

Honestly I was very disapointed. Because the Order of the Pheonix is such a long book, most of the details were cut out in order to keep the length of the movie realistic. Its almost like wathing the cliff notes version of the book. After watching the movie, I asked my boyfriend (who has not read any of the books) if he understod any of it, because I really didn't think he could with so many details being left out. Somehow he managed to get a rough overview of the book though.

What I really didn't like though is that the new director had some very different ideas on how things should look. For example, the dementors looked very different in this movie. They were no longer cloaked but floating skeletons wrapped in shrouds. When Sirius uses the floo network to speak to Harry, instead of his head appearing in in the embers his face appears in the flames. Also a lot of the scenery looked a bit different to me. I'm not sure if this was just my imagination or if anyone else noticed it too, but the Gryfindor common room looked different in this movie. If anyone else was able to tell what the difference was please let me know, I'm just not able to put my finger in it.

There are just way to many little changes from the previous versions for my liking. There were also a lot of deviations from the storyline as well. The big thing that bothered me was the director made Cho Chang the girl to rat out the D.A. In the book it was a friend of hers. There were a lot of smaller changes too. The storyline was off in some places and he made Luna Luvgood a much more important character than she was in the book. She got almost as much screen time as Ron and Hermoine.

Over all I was very dissapointed. I think the director had some great ideas. I really like some of the cinematography in this movie, some of the angles were great, but the movie was too different from the past four movies and too different from the book for my taste.
