Question:
Who REALLY needs an agent??
I hear if a screenwriter wants to sell his story, he needs an agent so he can "send it out".
But couldn't you just do it yourself by sending your screenplay to production companys and studios?
Wouldn't that save you money and let you have a satisfaction of your screenplay acutally looked at??

Nope, because they don't know you from a hole in the ground (so to speak). It has to come from a professional agent. The truth is that they won't even look at it unless it has been submitted by an agent. You have to go through the proper channels.
