Movie mistakes?!

Question:

Movie mistakes?

You know in movies when they burn or rip and you see the mistake? Or when it turns blue, cracks up, or becomes fuzzy...or when they count down like 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and they have the radar thing and all...
Well, I was wondering if anybody had ANY clue how I could find a way to download those things...because I have looked and I have found NOTHING. So you're help will be appreiciated. :)

Answers:

You mean film damage and the intro countdown.

I know that Adobe Premier Pro comes with the counter as part of its standard insertable footage. I think on the Apple it's part of the Apple Movie program too.

As for the film damage, Magic Bullet makes these add-ins. called "Misfire": Basic scratches, dust, displacement, fading, flicker, funk, gate weave, grain, micro scratches, post contrast, splotches, and vignette. For PC or Mac platform.

But it's not cheap nor free. We got ours free as a part of a special package deal on the Panasonic AG-DVX100A, but I guess when the camera is $3000, they don't mind throwing something like this in.

The more expensive version (which was the free deal) includes LookSuite, a set of filters that make standard video have the look of your favorite films. It really works, and looks awesome, but it is a KILLER on render times. HOURS to render for just a few minutes of film.

But you can actually create a lot of these same effects using After Effects (which isn't cheap nor free either). For example:

I almost never use the LookSuite filters, and instead try to emulate the same look using the default tools in After Effects, which render a lot faster. Most of the time I can come 90% or better to what they were doing just by using Fast Color Correction and Gamma adjustment and it renders quickly.
