What is your interpretation of "Mulholland Drive?"?
I didn't watch this one at all but my wife did and said parts
of it was a bit much for her but since she rented it, she
watched it anyway. She said it was very strange and
she did not understand it.
Answers:
The first 3rd of the film is a dream (of Diane's), the last 3rd is Diane's bleak reality.
(Tell her if she watches the movie again, once the alarm goes off and the person we've seen as the ideal "Betty" wakes up and becomes a waitress named Diane, the movie has shifted from Diane's dream to her reality. It should help clear some things up.)
It's the typical weird Lynch movie. Some people hate them, I enjoy them.
