Did anyone else find Harry Potter 5 a little disappointing?!

Question:

Did anyone else find Harry Potter 5 a little disappointing?

It was a good movie but to me it moved far to fast, wasn't scary enough and had one to many cheesy lines. I hope the next one is better!

I agree, I was so let down!

First off, my problem with the Harry potter movies is the fact that they have always left so much of the book out! I know that it's impossible to keep everything from a book in a movie, but come on! I thought it was bad before, but in this film...OMG! I think that at least 75% of the book was edited out! Things that were important to learn for the next books, huge character developments, intricate turning points...all GONE! I feel like it merely glossed over everything, and just wound up being this bit of fluff. Anyone that hasn't read the books would look at this and think "what's the big deal?? these books are stupid" One of the most important things you can do in a film is make your audience fall in love with your characters, make them either root for them, or despise them, but in the end.... you make them FEEL something....it brings the audience in a makes people feel like they are part of the experience. That simply DOES NOT happen in these films.... and it's unfair to the audience, and cheats the books. The films haven't even allowed the for development of the characters, we should be knowing MORE about these characters with each film, not LESS. What really upset me as well was the fact that some of the really important characters, were only on screen for a brief few minutes! Order of the Phoneix is a huge turning point in the series, and so much needed to be shown that was not....

*spoilers*

Tonks was onscreen maybe twice, for a minute or two...and nothing was even said about her and Lupin, who was also onscreen for maybe two minutes....
The entire Kreacher story didn't even happen.....
No time was spent on actually disecting the order itself... and telling the story....
Proffessor McGonagall was onscreen for about a minute...and nothing was ever shown about her being stunned by the party that attacked Hagrid, and for that matter Hagrid was barely in the movie as well!
The true extent of how evil Delores Umbridge is, was never revealed, the movie simply made her look like a bad, pain in the *** teacher.....
They never brought Firenze in....
They briefly touched on Harry and Cho..they ignored the development there....
They barely mentioned anything about the prophecy....they didn't show most of harry's dreams...and what they did show didn't really tell you anything.....so that at the end...you were left thinking.. "uhh...ok...is that what they had to go to the department for...i wasn't sure"
The entire scene with Arthur Weasley getting hurt was LAUGHABLE ..... and a true injustice! Everything about St. Mungos was edited out.....
Quidittch was not even mentioned in this movie, nor was the fact that Ron got onto the team, or that Oliver Wood left..... or the fact that Delores took Harry off the team.....
Bellatrix LeStrange was barely a footnote in the film! They never explained the true dynamic between her and Sirius... and her story was never told....
Malfoy turned into a mere passerby......he was barely onscreen...
Half of everything that happened with Dumbledore was edited out...... the "remember your promise" letter wasn't even shown!
They did briefly say that only people that have seen death could see the threstrals, but later on they just had everyone jump on them..no questions asked..... ?????!!??
The ending battle was a TRAVESTY! Something that should have been so good...and so detailed.....with all the rooms, and the oddities...they could have done SO much, and instead...it just fell flat! In the book everyone battled....and saved eachothers lives.... in the film.... it was as if no one else fought except harry and the adults..... everyone else just watched.... and the point where Sirius dies...HUGE LET DOWN!

BLAH! That was just a few things that were unshown... I could go on and on....but why bother.......I think you get the point....

So yes...overall...... disappointed.......
