In Pirates of the Caribbean...?

OK, I absolutley love the POTC movies. However, something in the first one has always confused me. When the pirates are coming into Port Royal, why does the maid take Elizabeth aside and say "They're coming for you. You're the governer's daughter." or something like that. I've never understood that, as they are not looking for children of prominent political figures, they are looking for the child of Bootstrap Bill. Can anyone explain this?

Oh, well don't I feel stupid. DUH! It's incredibly obvious now. :)

the maid doesnt know who they are looking for and so she probably thinks they are coming to kidnap elizabeth to take her for ransom or something like that... thats what i've always thought anyway..
