Mike Enslin is alive and well at the end of 1408. I think that means that if they sell enough tickets, yeah, they could do a sequel.
They could have Mike trapped in a haunted house or subway or anything. He could go on to have another supernatural adventure.
They could have a movie without John Cusack where Samuel L. Jackson is manager of another haunted hotel and has to find someone who is brave enough and crafty enough to shut down the room.
They could have the Dolphin Hotel renovated and re-opened and the room gets it's power back and starts doing it's evil again.
There's all kinds of possibilities. Just because it's based on a Stephen King short story that had no sequel doesn't mean someone can't write it!
