Does anyone knows what the movie Dreamgirls is about?

OMG Dreamgirls is amazing!The songs are wonderful.
These girls start offf at a talent show and are best friends. They quickly find a manager and get to sing back up behind Jimmy Early. (Eddie Murphy) They Dreamettes are now the Dreamgirls and are singing really well until Effie (Jennifer Hudson) gets temper tantrums with the songs,the girls and the manager. She is kicked out of the group and replaced by another lady.The Dreamgirls go on for about another 10 years and Effie gets poor.She also has a child,Magic. Effie starts singing again in a restaraunt and makes a new record single. The manager sees it and gives the song to the Dreamgirls. Then Jimmy dies from a drug overdose.
The Dreamgirls soon reunite with Effie and then break up.
