Who's not surprised that "Captivity" flopped?
That was the end-all declaration of the movie-going public that such filmmaking is a senseless waste of anyone's time and it does no favors to society. So to the Tarantinos and Eli Roths (Hostel) of the world: give it up. Save your S & M for your basements and leave the psychologically healthy world (compared to you) out of it. Tell Lions Gate (Saw) to close up shop.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!! i don't see the fascination people have with going to see a movie that depicts people getting tortured in despiccable and disgusting ways - because its fake does that make it OK? I daresay many of your serial killers/axe murderers will probably be found in these audiences (probably taking notes too)
