Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken was just released on DVD. I loved it when I was her age. (Of coarse, it was playing in the theatres when I was her age.) It is about a girl in the depression who is about to become a ward of the state when her aunt decides that she is too much trouble. She runs away and joins a carnival act and trains to be a diving girl, riding high diving horses. I really loved the movie, and since it is a Disney film, you know that there isn't any foul language or adult content. There is a very innocent love story involved, but it is very appropriate for her age level.
