ok so im a little confused and i dont remember the movie all that well so dont tell me, it was inbetween when blah blah and blah blah happened
ok so what part is a dream and what part isnt?

From what I interpreted, none of it was a dream and it was all an effect of the room. The room made him think that he was dreaming (like the surfing accident and waking up with his wife there). I think he got out of the room alive. If you noticed, on the brick wall it had the words "burn me alive" scratched into it - that was the way to "kill" the room. Because he set the room on fire, he in essence killed the room so it couldn't hurt anyone anymore.
