Okay, who liked Harry Potter 5?!

Question:

Okay, who liked Harry Potter 5?

Personally, I thought it was good, though there were so many things cut out it annoys me. For one thing, what the hell happened to Quidditch? Ron and Harry's Quidditch troubles played a major role in the book, in the move Quidditch simply ceased to exist.

And I would have liked to see Harry's disastrous date with Cho. And while I'm on Cho, who decided to make her the snitch of DA? It would have just as easy to make her friend the snitch like the book did, but I groaned in my seat when I saw Cho being dragged by the hair into the camera.

Also, we never saw Lockhart again or Neville's parents. And we never got Harry's interview with Rita Skeeter, instead all of a sudden people start believing him.

All in all, it was a good movie even with all the omittances, and I shouldn't really be judging the book to the movie, but still a lot of stuff was taken out that I wished they hadn't.

Answers:

it was ok as a movie, i thought it flowed alright. as a movie, i think #3 was best in terms of flow, this is 2nd.

having said that, i HATED what they did the characters and dialogue. i was annoyed by dumbledore. he does NOT get frustrated and let umbridge have the upperhand at any point of the book, but in the movie it seems She is in control and he is all upset by her, taking it out on the students!

i didn't like the cho thing either. it was important that 1) hermione was smart enough to put a spell on the papers that the students signed, and 2) that Cho's FRIEND is the sneak, so harry questions her friendship w/ someone like that.

why take out the part about neville and his parents?? the whole point is to show that the prophecy could be about Neville OR Harry!

the part w/ snape and occlumency was SO lame. i mean in the movie, it was like "hey, hey kept looking at harry's mind. he's supposed to stop it, so when he does, he should be able to see Snape's memories". but in the BOOK, it explains so much more of the ANGER that snape feels when harry is able to see all those horrible memories. including the ones in the pensieve!!!!!!!!!!!!! talk about ruining Major subplots! and if this movie is a "Setup" for 6, they're doing a horrible job.

i think sirius and bellatrix's fight was lame. and the way the wizards could apparate and disapparate in the department of mysteries was WRONG. they cannot do that in there.

anyways...so much to complain about! blah
