Why is Chevy Chase so unfunny and universally hated?
Why, after many years on SNL and some great movies (Vacation, Foul Play) Caddyshack, etc..., is Chevy Chase so unfunny and universally hated by his peers?

because he lost his sense of humour.He had words with stuttering john from the howard stern show sometime back and a lot of sterns loyal listeners turned there back on chevy.Chevy made his money doing comedies but didn't like when the focus of humour was put on him.pretty much he was accused of calling the kettle black and stern tore him a new one.apparently even the cast of snl could not stand chevy.chevys biggest rivalry on snl was john belushi.some of you are making it sound like he was a success on the show but he was replaced by bill murray after only 1-1/2 years on the show and snl even did a skit or two that made chevy the target of their humour.when chevy was replaced by murray he personaly attacked murray behind the scenes and made fun of murrays skin condition (real nice guy!) you can read about that on his wikipedia page.
