Do you agree with their choice?

I don't know if any of you have seen AFI's list of top 100 movies, but I disagree with some of the choices. I thought the list was better when they made it back 10 years ago. Now they changed it and put a few recent movies on. I mean, they put on Lord of the frickin rings and The sixth sense, and Titantic. And they took out From here to eternity, My Fair Lady, A Place in the Sun and Guess Who's coming to Dinner so they could put some recent ones. I mean, come on. Just because they won all the Oscars doesn't mean they're as good. It means that there wasn't as much to compete with. If they went up against the movies of a long time ago, the old movies would win. Wel thats my two cents and I was wondering if anyone agrees. Thanks for listening to my gibberish because you probably think I'm an idiot.

I enjoy old movies. That being said I usually prefer to watch newer movies. It is true with most anything that things get better with age. I believe movies have gotten better over the years. Not just special effects and things of that nature, but story development and characterization. I usually find acting in older movies to be very wooden. I think movies of the past were tryng to create fantasy worlds wile today movies try to be more grounded in reality. Even something as fantastical as The Lord of The Rings still rings more true than Errol Flynn in Robin Hood, or even Rex Harrison in My Fair Lady.
