Visual effects/set design question?!

Visual effects/set design question?
I'm really interested in getting into visual effects and set deisgn for movies, but i'm not sure what i have to do to get into that career. I was in stagecraft at my school for several years and always loved the hands-on designing for the plays and musicals and i'd really love to work on the hands-on aspect of set desinging for movies....
How do I get into that field? Is there schooling to take or what?
I know all about computerized visual effects and how to get into that field, but i'd prefer the hands-on set design more.
Any ideas would be great!

well depending on how old you are.. you can go to like a college counsler.. im not sure if there is a such thing.. im only 15! lol.
im pretty sure they have classes for it... like visual effects classes.. go to your local community college.. or any college.. (lol) and see what kinds of art classes they might have.
