I too think aunt Petunia loves harry. i read a fan fiction in which she tells harry that she didn't hate her sister. she only hates magic and his father James. she says that whenever she looks at harry she feels Lily's eyes looking at her from James' face.
now its just a fan fict but don't you think its a good explanation?
also i think she hides her feelings because Vernon and Dudley are against harry and she does not want to do anything against their wish. she is just fiercely family oriented.
and again Vernon supports the family and he likes to treat harry as a servant. if petunia treats harry like a son he will be displeased and may even kick him out.
the whole scenario may change in book7 because harry is going to leave the house forever. we can only hope that she will make it up to him.
