The good news: I got it to work on my macbook, which I hooked up to my tv, and the quality is pretty good. The bad news: I had to install windows xp, sp2 to do it. Bottom line, I'm still pissed off at netflix for ignoring the osx platform, when mac users were the people who got their business up and running. I'm still tempted to switch to blockbuster after this betrayal, but the watch it feature is so damn cool. Even if you utilize the following, continue to call and pester them, and threaten to cancel your membership! 1-888-638-3549.

Here's how to do it: You need a OS emulator that allows you to install windows. Or you can install bootcamp and windows, but this entails rebooting, while the my method can be run from the comfort of osx. Right now you can get VMware Fusion free as a beta, or Parallels as a trial. I like the VM cuz you can open internet explorer from the dock just like any other application. You can find a copy of windows xp for about $70 online. You can also obtain a functioning bootleg/illegal copy using a torrent. Just google "windows xp sp2 ruz" If you go this route, just make sure it's not 64 bit--although vmware does support it, your system may not. The version is in spanish, but runs well. It may take you a few hours to download, but it's free. Note: I just did this to see if it works, and will reinstall a valid copy of windows ;) The install of the software is all pretty straightforward, and the emulated windows automatically uses your internet connection.

If you have a g4 or g5, you can use virtual pc. Tried this on my g4 ibook with 1.33ghz processor and 1.5 mb of ram. It works, but moves play like a slideshow. Might work ok with powerbook, imac or better.

If you want to play the movies on your tv, you just need the dvi or vga to s-video/rca adapter, $20 from apple.
