yes. voldemort gave draco malfoy the job to kill him but at last minute he couldnt do it and snape made the unbreakable vow to dracos mom so snape had to do it for him. the unbreakable vow is something that you promise to do and you cannot break it because you will die. and snape promised to look after draco and if he could not fulfill the task that voldemort gave him then snape himself was to carry out the task, which is what happened. snape used one of the unforgiveable curses.
