Harry Potter movies are disappointing?!

Question:

Harry Potter movies are disappointing?

Anyone else feels that way?

I mean, if you compare the movies with the books i say the books win hands down. The movies lack an element, it's almost boring! i feel the movie producers and directors are only trying to make a Harry Potter movie for the sake of MAKING it. that's all. What's the point of taking out many parts of the book? So much is taken out and some of those that remained in the plot gets editted! For instance, Albus Dumbledore looks like a crazy old man who is rash and loud, unlike his counterpart in the book who's calm, wise and witty. do anyone realise that Hermoine hugs Harry in almost every Harry Potter Movies, Obviously they're just doing it because on screen, Harry's the hero and Hermoine's the pretty one. it's weird because the one in the book does it much lesser. What would Ron think!? hahaa...

Anyway, am i being too critical?

Is it because I've read the book and know what's gonna happen in the movie already?

or are the HP movies really that bad???

Hi, i have gone thru some of the answers i've got and two particular answers stood out. Stars A and Phamtom Princess. I'm still undecided who to choose as best answers! hahaa..

anyway, i have concluded that while most of you agree with me, you also mention that i AM being too critical. i have thus concluded that one should not read the books too many times before watching the movie else he'll find the movie boring and off-track. yet one must at least read the book once or else he'll never get what the movie is about, cos it's moving at such a fast pace! every scene moves on after SECONDS!

also, i beg to differ that the movies are poor becos the books are too thick with over 600 pages. haf anyone seen LOTR's books? they're thick as well, yet the movie came out splendid didn't it? i thus conclude that it's not the over-whelming contents of the books, but rather the director must have the right cast for each character, as well as know which parts to include or leave out.

more opinions?

Answers:

I agree with everything you said. I mean... it's just not the same. The 5th movie... it's so rushed and all dark and stuff. Every single scene was like 3 seconds long. Anybody who hasn't read the books would be like whatttt??? At least I would. I am soo glad I read the books before I watched those.

The only movie that was rather good was the first one. After that, each movie got worse and worse. They are entertaining sure but sheesh. Hermione was always all moody and cry-ey in the fourth movie and she was never that way in the book. There is almost no Ron and Hermione romance... it's always Harry and Hermione. Just because Daniel is apparently "more attractive" than Rupert.

The directors are giving the viewers "what they want" like action and special effects. But they're forgetting the story. The actual point.

The 5th movie was a disappointment. It seemed SO SHORT. Even though it was well over 2 hours.

I just feel sad... atleast I have the books huh?

*EDIT* I saw something that made me edit my answer. The answer above me is so right! No Quidditch or anything. Like WHAT? What is Harry Potter without Quidditch? There is so little comic relief, it's not even funny. Like it's always dark. Dark, dark, dark. What's up with Voldemort? Why was he in a SUIT? Where did that come from? And the trio are wearing Muggle clothing a LOT. That's not supposed to happen at all. They are only supposed to do that when they're outside the school. They are supposed to hate Muggle clothing. It's just stuff like that, that would make the characters more "believable." Stuff like eating breakfast or a light conversation. Nothing like that. Just fighting and crap.
