Is the Overlook Hotel really haunted in reality?
The hotel from movie "The Shinning". Is it really haunted in reality? Anyone have any info? I know it's a realy hotel. Was the movie based on some actual events that took place there?

The movie is not based on "actual events." It's based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. King and his family stayed at the Stanley hotel near Denver, Co. for a while, much like Nicholson's character did. According to King, and I'm paraphrasing, his brain just starting doing its little magic that it does so well, and Tahdah! This great book came out of it.
therocker, up above me, did a great job outlining the history and the ghost sightings at the Stanley, but though they provided inspiration for the haunted hotel motiff, the novel is not based on them.
