Which is better - Hairspray 1988 or Hairspray 2007?
So, which movie is better - the 1988 version of Hairspray with Ricki Lake and Divine or the 2007 version with Nikki Blonsky and John Travolta - and why?

I enjoyed the original movie and watch it whenever it is on. Ricki Lake and Divine were perfectly cast and it is going to be difficult to watch John Travolta as Edna Turnblatt.
