when voldemort went to the house of godric griffindor to kill the potters.....lilly potter scarificed her life for harry....in harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban he came to know that peter pettigrew betrayed his parents by sending voldermort to kill them....so then lilly potter's mother love saved harry's life....and because harry potter is the boy who lived voldermort got disgraced that he could not kill a wizard...so he got killed because he just casted a scar on his forehead
and now he wanted revenge....after his death...he got into the body of proffesor quirell in sorcerer's stone...so he was looking for the stone to break away from his body and kill harry...however he failed....again in chamber of secrets he got his powers into the diary which he created 50 years ago...but it was destroyed by harry again...now that the diary was destroyed by harry, it was only harry who could die to bring back voldermort....so in prisoner of azkaban peter pettigrew wants to kill harry to bring back voldermort in the form to destroy hogwarts...however in goblet of fire he uses harry's blood to bring voldermort in a different form and he is still after harry
