The movie is about this girl Tracy, who has a dream of dancing on TV. But she is a big girl, which makes this dream of hers hard to achieve. She doesn't let anyone come in her way of achieving her dream of dancing on the Corny Collins Show.
But she is also fighting for the black people, so they can dance on TV too. Intergration is a big issue in the movie.
Basically its about being yourself and not stopping from achieving your dreams, just because your different.

I'm not even kidding you, this movie is amazing. One of the best movies I have seen in a while. It has a great storyline, awesome music, a fantastic cast. You won't be disappointed in spending the money to see it.
I've seen it twice and I love it! So did my boyfriend, who normally doesn't like movies like this.
So go see it. It's a great movie!
The first person that posted..the movie is set in 1963. Of course his hair is going to look different, they didn't have the same style as today.
