i think the books for the detail and surprises and they started it all also the new movies leave a lot out well i want your input

i definately think the book. Like you said they have way more detail, that a movie could never really capture unless it was five hours long. Plus you get to use your imagination.
None of the characters look like what i had invisioned in my head while reading the books.
