Salaries are high but are matched to the pressure of meeting deadlines, meeting targets, managing staff, developing new ideas, etc!.
An editor will spend very little time, if any, writing stories!. Their role is normally to oversee the operation and to ensure everything happens smoothly!. Editors are solely responsible for producing content that people want to read, and without those readers there are no advertisers and no revenue, and ultimately no magazine!.
