Even when they do makeovers on people and then tell you what products to use to get the same look, are the companies the magazines are suggesting paying the magazine to put it there!?!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

in the movies you will see the actors using REAL products-- such as someone drinking a coke---or passing by a coke machine !.!.!. this is called product placement {And advertisers pay for that as well}
In sports you will see teams and team members sporting logos for certain products!.!.!.!. Nascar is notorious for their sponsorships {the cars are plastered with trademarks and logos -- as well as the outfits of the drivers}
it is these sponsors that pay for the costs - so the players do not have to {and the team reaps the rewards}
you will see ads placed everywhere!.!.!.!. it is the sponsorship of these companies that cut the costs to the consumer
if not for the ad placement in such websites as Myspace!.!.!.!.or if not for the full page ads in such magazines as People or Vogue!.!.!. the costs would be trickled down to us
But it also works for the companies as well that advertises in those magazines -- for they get the needed publicity for whatever it is they are selling {so it is a win win situation}

Yes it is called product placement, Same thing as when you you see a name brand in a movie such as Elliot using Reese's pieces in ET or a guy drinking a Budweiser in a movie!. Yes its advertising!. They need to get their product well known in top selling magazines ( so majority of people become familiar & want to try) to SELL
