I need some ideas to put in a magazine- i got an awasome name by VIDA (whoever that is). And now i need ideas.
Um, so far i've got the ideas that VIDA gave me like:
1. Featuring the up-beat life of 6th graders
2. Think Gossip
3.The K.OS in my school
4. Recipes
5. Puzzles
6. Horoscopes
7. Personality quizzes
8.surveys
And what else????

how about things that other 6th graders have accomplished? Maybe it would give them some self confidence and motivation...
Things like other 6th graders around the US that do community service
Such as:
Volunteering in a local nursing home
Walking dogs
cutting grass for people
Raking leaves
Or 6th graders that have one awards for their artistic behavior
Singing
Painting
Sculpting
Poetry
Short Stories
Or Academic Achievements
Awards like High Honers
Skipping A grade
Certificates for Perfect Attendance
ETC...

wow
as 6th graders, they're getting their first taste of middle school and really beginnning to grow up. why not add a section about problems they might face when growing up and experiencing new things and how to go about solving them?

oh feature a section were they can asked questions like an advice colum and you can answer them, and desplay their questions in the next issue ide read that mag for sure
Look at those dumb magizines about all these Disney Channel stars,like J-14.Nobody likes the shows,but a lot of people that i got to school with think the Jonas Brothers are "HOT",and a lot of guys at my school like Miley Cyrus *no comment*
So maybe put LOTS of gossip in it cuz thats what sells :D
And personaily quizzes and compatilbility quizzes...although theyre all crap people will buy it cuz theyre like "AHHHH!THIS QUIZ SAYS IM A STUCK UP BRAT!AND THAT MAX WOLNT LIKE ME!!!AHHH! I BATTER TAKE THIS QUIZ EVERY WEEK AND SEE IS I CHANGE!!!!"

i'm a 6th grader.I like horoscopes,contests to win things,tips on how to get your crush to notice you,real life stories.those r 4 girls.
for boys:interviews on pro-football players,latest video games,latest cars,clothes ect.

Got one!! The fashions that people are wearing, and what is in style.
Maybe a humorous advice column where kids can ask questions. It would be nice to have an article each issue that features a person doing something good in their community or school...volunteering with the elderly, working on a community garden, really positive stuff. Poetry written by students (maybe have a contest, let a panel of students and teachers decide which ones will be published). Ask your readers to write a "20 questions" interview on a favorite teacher and publish one in each issue. Summarize national news that directly affects students in that age bracket. Good luck on your magazine. Are you going to print it or do it online?
working at a middle school library (6th to 8th grade) I can tell you what the students take (borrow) from our library all the time.
