Ideas for writing an article on teen life?!

Question: I'm an editor for the "Life" the schools online magazine, and my section is all about teens [relationships, dating, friendship etc..], and i have writer's block -_-

I can't seem to think about anything to write about,
and it has to be interesting,
for kids ages 11-15.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me find something interesting to write about!
thanks!
TP =)

Why is there so much pressure about finding a boy/girl friend by those in this age group. When teens see so many unhappy relationships around them, why do they have such urgency to become involved with someone they know won't even be in their lives five years hence. How can they expect relationships to work at such young ages?

drugs and sex

Why don't you ask the kids you go to school with? Your friends? Do a poll and survey your classmates or stop kids in the hallway and ask them what they think teen life is really all about.

School work

how about why they think they know so much at that age when they haven't even lived a fraction of it yet

Hmmmmmmmmm.
What about break ups?
Or.....new gadgets like the touch Ipod.
Or....how to cope with losing a (young) friend to death?
Or how fashion has changed over decades?

U could write an article about AIM and how some people lie and can cause class downfalls cuz some people copy the conversation put it won mic.word and change it show it to someone then it causes trouble im 13

You could do a feature on good places to visit and give them rateings, you could get your pals to rate them too

stds how one out of four girls have it and how many young girls are having babies something important

How things have changed.

The news is full of new rules for students.

No hugging, no baggy pants, etc. I even saw one that said some states are not going to permit students to wear colognes, perfumes, aftershaves, etc, because someone might be allergic or have asthma.

When I was in school, we had lockers, no need for bookbags. We could hug. We all dressed appropriately because we CHOSE to. We could carry a pocketknife because we knew what the appropriate uses for a pocketknife were.

We weren't handed condoms. A pregnant high school student was a rarity.

We didn't have school shootings or bomb threats.

What happened? and how does it change? What can we do?

current bands. and girls who love them. good topic the jonas brothers. girls will read about them. TRUST ME! i would and im 19 years old. =)

electronics [such as ipods, cell phones, gaming systems, etc.]
or the internet in general // popular internet sites [myspace, facebook, miniclip, etc.]

explain dangers, positives, and neutrals of them.

what about the dangers of dating an older boy? (or girl) that's a serious problem and alot of people don't realize that their letting themselves be controlled.
or how to deal when a close friend hooks up with your major crush?
a little juvenile, but that's kinda what you mean right?

the dangers of gossip!!!

How girls shouldn't lower themselves and be sexually active for a guy who really doesn't care about them even though he says he does, because theyre not only hurting themselves, but its hurting their friends when they have to find out about this because they hate seeing their friend be taken advantage of like that and know the only cause is because her low self esteem

Good question write about a real teen try an interview. Or write about a typical teen under drug, sex, and school pressure. U can try a random teen with divorcee parents and how likely they will follow a bad path,EX:drugs, prostitution and abuse

I am a teenager myself, and through the situations I often see in school, I realized that teens tend to "go out" with people within their group. For example, Karen*, Paul*, and Jill* are in the same clique and one week, Karen accepts Paul's decision to go out. After a few weeks, they break up and now Paul is asking Jill to go out. Instead of rejecting, Jill accepts.

My main point is why don't teens feel awkward about this? I see teens at my school and most of the time, they would go out with each other within the same group and keep circling around. I got to say, most of them have already kissed everybody at least once!

It depends if you want to make it friendly or deep. If you just want a cute article then maybe write a quiz about how people get over arguments or an article including tips on how to make new friends. Possibly do a review on a resteraunt, book, movie, T.V. show, or web site. If you want to write something more personal, do a eye-opening article about teen popularity or a quiz titled: "How long can you stay in a relationship?" or "How close are you with your parents?" Good luck with your article!
