I'm a "professional status" magazine subscriber. Does this mean an!
Question: My subscription to "Wired" Magazine is about to run out. I got a last chance letter to resubscribe. They emphasize that I am a "Professional" subscriber status, and that this is my last opportunity to remain as one. But as far as I can tell, everything -including the price - is the same as those inferior lower status subscribers ;)
Does anyone know if this status means anything in the least? Or do marketers just think we are stupid?

I've experienced the same thing. I'm a "valued" subscriber to Details, yet my renewal rates aren't much different than what I was offered the first time around.
I think "professional status" just means that they really like you, because you pay them money.
