Magazines make money on the false hopes of women. Bad enough in magazines, but we've also got commercials on tv encouraging us to eat nothing but soup, or yogurt, or cereal as our sole food to loose weight. It wil never end!

Not only an unhealthy approach to life, it promotes stereotypical beauty and encourages a spend spend spend spend mentality. I haven't read a magazine in years.

Unhealthy is beautiful Didn't you know?

Some women's magazines -- Health, Fitness, etc. -- promote healthy diets. You just have to ignore the Women's Day rags by the checkout counter ("lose thirty pounds in thirty days!")

Because they understand marketing and the urge that lots of women feel to be thin, and the urge to overspend, not be ourselves, and party like some dog in heat.

Because its all about money.

Money for the magazine that accepts the advertisement

Money for the seller of fraud diets because they know so many people want to lose weight, but do not want to put in the time...
