What kind of magazine like playboy, they had around 1948? Playboy was founded in!

Question: There wasn't really anything like Playboy, as it was a very new idea when it first came out. There were plenty of sources for pornography like magazines, picture catalogs, and stag films, but they were not legal in many states, or were kept more underground. Playboy did it in a supposedly tasteful way to catch the mass appeal to a broader audience. In 1948, the closest thing was probably cheesecake and pin-ups.

Hugh Hefner was a journalist before he was a horndog.
