What happens if you don't pay a magazine subscription? do they go looking fo!

Question: First they stop sending the magazine. Then they sell the amount you owe to a collection agency. for example if you owe $50 the magazine will sell your name and debt to the collection agent for $25. Then the agent harrasses you until you pay the $50. if you pay the agent gets a $25 profit and the magazine publisher got back 1/2 of what you owed them. In the end you lose because this will go on your credit report and will affect how your able to secure credit in the future. Good luck securing a credit card, auto loan or mortgage at a reasonable interest rate if you have a history of ignoring your debts. My advice is to cancel your subscription and pay what you owe.

they stop sending you the magazine. If you didn't order or renew your subscription there isn't anything they can do.

They will stop your subscription and send you payment reminders.

well in england u will get warnings through and passed onto a dept collecting agnecys and have bailiffs come to your house and take your belongings and may say your 250 pound worth tv is only 50 quid so they will take everything.not sure about other countrys though

Well, after a few attempts to get paid they will simply end your subscription. You may get a few additional notes requesting payment but that's about it.

you dont get your magazine. They stop sending it, until you renew your subscription.

It will affect your credit rating, when you go for a loan. They
will charge you a higher interest for you to pay. So if you don't
pay for the magazines. You will end up paying the credit
company, more than you owed. This is the computer age. :-})

lol no..wouldnt that be funy though? if a lady all dressed up nicely came to my door like..you havent been paying for your vogue! no they just stop sending you the mag.

If you got the magazine as a "free trial" just write cancel on the bill and send it back. A lot of magazines will keep sending you mags and bills after you cancel, just keep writing cancel and sending the bill back to them. RollingStone is notorious for never really stopping your subscription. Other magazines will send you bills when you are no where near the end of your subscription, I ended up with 3 years paid for a magazine before I caught on to that.

You could get sent to collections but it's unlikely.

Naw. They will suspend your delivery. If this is a chronic thing and you do it all the time, it could affect your credit rating down the line. I wouldn't worry though. Doing that once in a great while is still acceptable...sort of.
