I've never won one (having said that I've never entered any!!) but I have run two.
One was an on pack competition for a brand leading lager, the prize being a luxury 5 star trip to Amsterdam. We got about 500 entries so the chance of winning was quite high.
The other was an on pack multi prize competition on savoury snacks (stocked by Waitrose and hundreds of independant retailers). We bought all the prizes in readiness and then ended up giving some away because we didn't get enough winners!
I don't know about TV comps or those in 'Take a Break' mag but I do think on pack ones and those in specialist magazines are well worth going in for because the numbers entering are lower.

I won 6 bottles of wine in a raffle in italy. It was funny because i was about 7 at the time so my parents had to drink it all. But no i've never won a big prize :(
I've never won anything in a competition but my daughter won a colouring competition when she was 4! She won a trip to a soft play area with lunch for her and three friends!
A friend of mine wins loads of competitions - seriously she must average at least one win a week! She mainly does radio phone in competitions and local radio stations only as they have fewer listeners. She wins some seriously good prizes too!!!

i won a plasma tv out of a magazine about 6 months ago. they aren't all scams,although i was a doubter.
I've won Jesse McCartney tickets and backstage passes.....i think you should try because no matter what at least you'll have a chance!!! It won't hurt to try!!
