If it's too small it says this: Joe and his brothers were filming the final scenes of Camp Rock last fall when they heard the painful news. Their dog Cocoa, of 13 years, had just died. Joe broke down first-----he was crushed. "Cocoa was my dog," Joe tells M. "I picked him out when I was 5." The Jonas fam got Cocoa from an animal rescue organization, but it was 5-year old Joe who fell in love with the small black Lhasapoo (Lhasa Apsopoodle mix) Cocoa was up for adoption at a local pet supply store and Joe wouldn't let go of the pooch after closing! " I didn't want a dog," JB's mom Denise tells M. "But that puppy won me over. His name is coal but 'coal' is something Santa puts in your stocking if you're bad, so we'll call you Cocoa because you are dark and sweet!" As JB's fame grew, it became harder to care for Cocoa. While filming the video for "year 3000" JB left Cocoa in the care of friends. " I got a call from them that Cocoa had to be bailed out of jail!" Denise says. "Apparently, Cocoa tried to escape to our house and he was found by the police. " The fam then had to make a tough decision. " We started touring alot and couldn't take care of Cocoa at our house," Joe tells us. "So he went to live with our grandparents in Arizona. That way, we still got to see him alot." When Denise got the news that Cocoa had passed away from old age, she knew that the boys would be sad, but Joe would be especially upset. " I definitely teared up," Joe tells M. "Maybe i'll get another dog one day. Im not sure." From all of us at M, rest in peace Cocoa.
