American Girl would be GREAT. It's for ages around 8-12. It has crafts, stories, a "help" column, activities, party ideas, hair tips, etc. It's great for young girls, and it's VERY appropriate. It's by the makers of the american girl dolls, which are very popular for this age group too.

American Girl is a good one. Kids Discover and Highlights are also good.
If she likes disney channel (Hannah Montana, The suite Life of Zach and Cody, etc.) Then theres Bop, J-14, Twist, Tiger Beat, Quiz Fest, and M, She will like any of those.

Make sure you get her a magazine that will not corrupt her mind and make her think she has to be someone or look a certain way to be pretty. Any magazine with celebrities would not be necessary for her. I think American Girl would be a good magazine, as long as she likes that kind of thing. If she likes animals...maybe get her a magazine that has to do with animals. All depends on what she is interested in.
GL magazine... its a great magazine i started reading around that age about growing up mentally and physically, current "popstars" and so on. she'll love it
